Every night I dream
Of holding you in my arms
Feeling the softness of your hair
And how smooth your skin is
Of making your lips curl to the sky
And turning your cheeks red
I dream of and wish to
Take care of you
And cheer you up
Keep you safe
And never let you go
I hope to
Hold your hand tight
Wrap our feet together in bed
Keep you warm against me
And touch my lips on yours

But you’re not here…

Why aren’t you here?
A bit of a representation of a gap I'm feeling. I wanted to try to write something that didn't speak to people as specifically as my other poems, but to write something that can speak a little more universally and reach to several different situations and still be effective.
